Yacht Management
Always there, constantly evolving
A SUPPORTED CAPTAIN HAS MORE TIME TO CONCENTRATE ON THE IMMEDIATE CHALLENGES OF DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS AND A TEAM OF SENIOR MANAGERS WHO HAVE ALL WORKED ONBOARD UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT KIND OF SUPPORT REALLY IS
Correctly implemented onboard systems create a safe environment for you and your family
The International Safety Management (ISM) code came about following one of the worst maritime disasters ever seen. 193 lives were lost when a ferry capsized just outside the Belgian port of Zeebrugge, solely because simple procedures were not followed. Today, the ISM and ISPS codes ensure that the proper procedures are in place to avoid disaster in a worst case scenario. Whether a regulatory requirement or not, Y.CO will implement, maintain and advise on all safety and security procedures onboard. Our 24 hour onshore emergency response teams are trained to react immediately, whatever happens.
A properly trained crew is responsible, confident and takes pride in what they do
“For me, a yacht is for enjoyment and anyone who has owned one knows that enjoyment comes only with a great crew”. The owner of a 90m yacht told us that and we agree. Working on yachts is a lifestyle as much as it is a job, and getting the right mix of characters is crucial. We provide crew search and recruitment and also employment solutions and advice on training and pastoral care.
Consistent technical maintenance and support ensures a better maintained yacht
Prevention is better than a cure. It might sound an old cliché but it is an adage we live by. Technical support is there to assist when things break down, but also there to help make sure they don’t.
Balanced books are essential to keep on an even keel
A yacht operation requires similar resources to a small company, with the exception that a company can be profitable and a yacht rarely is. A team of yacht accountants in an office won’t help to turn a profit, but it does keep the ship’s books in order. Our pre-paid debit cards also provide a safe alternative to large sums of cash onboard.
Concierge is a luxury no yacht should be without
A berth in Monaco for the Grand Prix; a reservation for twelve at Club 55 on the August bank holiday; where to find fuel in French Polynesia. Some logistics are tougher than others, but you just have to know the people who can help secure the impossible – whatever it may be.
An online management system makes accessing vital information and paperwork easy
Our clients are accustomed to sophisticated operating systems in every area of their lives. Yacht management should be no different, which is why we built Y.CO LIVE.
A yacht in the South Pacific, an owner on the East Coast, a yacht manager in France. When key information holders are out of range, busy or even just asleep, it is good to know there is one place where information is always available – anytime, anywhere.
Purpose built for yachtsmen, by yachtsmen.
