As a post-graduate I studied accountancy, finance, labour law and taxation for four years. Was it worth it? I now get to spend my days with our hard-working, hard-joking accounts team, so of course it was. Thanks to my multi-lingual co-workers, my English is becoming fluent. I also speak Creole – a legacy of my childhood, which was spent in the zero-stress island of Guadeloupe, the jewel of the French Caribbean. Cooking the island’s food is one of my hobbies. Matoutou crab fricassee, chicken Colombo and accras cod fritters are the order of the house. When I’m not playing with my daughter or cooking, I like watching football - it is my family's sport so there is usually an important game to watch on weekends.
