Venture Into The Wilderness

National parks. Pearl farms. Hiking trails. Whale watching. The world’s largest tropical tides. Marine turtles. Gorges and waterfalls. Secret beaches of pure silica white. Indigenous culture. Coral reefs. Rainforest lagoons. Peaceful creeks. Deserts and mountains. The road less travelled.

Cygnet Bay

1

Arrive at Broome International Airport and transfer to Cygnet Bay. Explore pearl farms and cruise through the islands of King Sound. Witness the giant tides at the world famous Buccaneer Archipelago, a collection of almost 1,000 rocky islands and huge rocks dating back millions of years. With tidal ranges up to 12 metres, this is one of the most remote areas in the world, and a favourite of adventurers and explorers.

Hidden Island

2

Depart Cygnet Bay across King Sound. From here, to Hidden Island, home of Silica Beach, the whitest beach (and the only one of its kind) in the Kimberley. Whales can be spotted on the way. Relax on a beach of pure white silica sand nudged by spectacular turquoise sea, reminiscent of the Whitsundays.

Silver Gull Creek

2

Cruise at sunset to Silver Gull Creek for overnight anchorage.

Talbot Bay

3

Pass by Cockatoo and Koolan Island, known for iron ore mining, and on to Talbot Bay and the Horizontal Falls, one of Kimberley’s most incredible natural phenomena. These unique waterfalls, described by David Attenborough as "one of the greatest natural wonders of the world", have water passing horizontally through two narrow gorges. Powerful tidal movements create a waterfall effect as the water banks up against one side of the narrow cliff passage, repeated on the turning tide. Explore by tender and see them up close.

Overnight in Talbot Bay.

Montgomery Reef

4

With every changing tide, as the ocean recedes Montgomery Reef rises. With tides over 10m in height over a single spring cycle, up to 5m of reef gradually emerges from the waves. Covering an area over 270 km², this is Australia’s largest inshore reef, with shallow lagoons, seagrass beds and brightly coloured corals, home to sponges, crabs, cushion stars, turtles, octopi and more.

Raft Point

4

Cruise to raft point for overnight anchorage.

Raft Point

5

Go ashore and view indigenous Wandjina rock art in ancient caves. These artworks were created by local indigenous people hundreds of years ago. A local aboriginal guide enhances your experience of this spot with stories and legends. Later, tender to Scotties Creek to explore the rainforest and swim in a cool forest lagoon.

Overnight at Raft Point.

Boondook Bay

6

Depart Raft Point early for a morning voyage along the spectacular Kimberley coastline, taking in gorges and Coastlines. Arrive at Boondook Bay. Spend the afternoon out on the tenders exploring or relax onboard your yacht, taking in the views from deck.
Overnight anchorage at Boondook Bay.

Cygnet Bay

7

Return to Cygnet Bay, back across King Sound. Spot whales on the way. Transfer to shore via the working pearl farm, one of the oldest in Australia, before returning to Broome for onward travel.
